A week-long evangelistic series was held at the University of Natural Resources and Environment in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea, in preparation for the PNG for Christ 2024 campaign.
Pastor Garry Laukei was the guest speaker at the July 9-15 program, which was themed “Say Yes to Jesus”.
University vice chancellor Professor Aisak Pue attended the opening night and appreciated the message, “Good God, bad world, why?” “I wish all the students in the university attend this meeting to learn about the truth,” he said. “It has been made simple to understand.”
One student from another faith who attended each night said, “If Adventists conduct such meetings monthly [it] will have greater impact in the lives of students. We need more of these messages to be presented at this university.”
Two students were baptised on the Sabbath and a further nine students committed to be baptised soon. The Adventist student body and staff prepared an agape feast after the baptism to mark the special occasion.
